Record Rename

Record Rename 0.1.3

Do you plan to make it work with vertical streaming/live vertical?
Just a suggestion: add some kind of suffix to differentiate replay files. That would be really useful!

I might just be dumb, but I can't seem to get the plugin to work properly.
Whenever I stream and record at the same time the plugin doesn't work (I have only tested this with 2+ hour long streams).
But if I just hit record for a few seconds, then the plugin works with no issues.

Am I missing something or doing something wrong?

If it all possible, I'd love a %counter% variable or something similar in the filename format.

As it is currently, my files overwrite if I don't use the standard year, month, day, hour, minute, second format.

Having a number that counts up for each recording (Similar to what OBS does by default) would help cut down on these long unnecessary file names.

I'm gonna try this out right now. My "recorded" folder is a mess right now and I think this will save my bacon. I'll be back and give my thoughts.

Ok. I'm back. It worked like a charm. This is fantastic. Thank you very much.

Im having an issue where I record my video and after I stop recording it will sometimes ask me to rename but not everytime. I also have multiple different profiles based on where I want the file saved. Am I missing something to make it work with all profiles?

I wanted to provide a visual example of my request. This is from the recording settings in Elgato Studio. I'd love an "incrementing number" option for the filename formatting. This can take the form of a variable like %counter% or %number%. When combined with a prefix (which your plugin supports) it makes my file names both short and unique.

OBS does this natively already. If I leave the filename alone, even without that year/date/hour format, it will add a incrementing number to the end of the recording. Your plugin doesn't have that option, which leads to duplicates. The problem with OBS and Elgato Studio is that it doesn't have the ability to auto add the game's name like your plugin does.

So I'm in this weird middle ground were all the features I need exist. But there separated among solutions for some bizarre reason.

Thanks again for all the work you do!

i really needed this. thx
i moved the folders from the windowsXXXX.zip to C:\Program Files\obs-studio (OBS Studio team had to rename it to or use \Program Files\OBS Studio\... already!)
and obs looked like this

seems like creator of obs-composite-blur has to deliver a patch, however. this is my first time with the plugin Record Rename and it's exactly how i wanted (primarily i record in .MKV and i also found out today that if i rename them in .MP4 and send them over telegram, which is the best messenger on windows and android so far, then telegram does show a preview while with .MKV it doesn't). this means that I tried out Record Rename the first time after UniGetUI with the help of winget on windows 10 upgraded my obs studio installation to obs v33.0.0. and this is special because

i will give you a 5 star rating and something with paypal after the obs v33.0.0 "bug"

OK. i usually call someone or watch a seminar with a conference software and i start obs, configure the audio correctly and after the call has ended, i quit obs can continue with other work. i do this since corona pandemic. some say it's illegal to record but i don't care. before i have discovered your great plugin, i had to open the /Videos folder and for unknown reasons windows exlorer needs plenty of time to load all the files so i have to wait until i can rename the youngest video-file.
